The cost of living in the USA varies from state to state. The most expensive states to live in the USA are Hawaii, New York, California, Maryland, New Jersey, etc. However, if you find a place to stay outside the main city area, you will find more affordable housing options.

If you are sharing your living area, annual housing expenses will be less than $7,000 in most places. But if you don't want to share, your cost might double.
